What's New for 2026?

Toyota adds an FX trim option to its hatchback version of the Corolla this year, as well as some new colors for that variant. Other new features across the new Corolla lineup include digital gauge displays for all trim levels, as well as rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot monitoring as standard safety features. Toyota has also given the top trims a larger 12.3-inch digital gauge display.

For the gas model, the motor type is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder DOHC 16-valve with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence that works with a dynamic-shift continuously variable transmission. For the hybrid option, the Corolla features a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder aluminum DOHC 16-valve engine with Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission. The hybrid Corolla delivers 138 horsepower and 151 lb.-ft. of torque.

For mileage estimates, the base gas model of the 2026 Corolla gets a 32 city/41 highway/35 combined MPG rating, while the hybrid gets a 51 city/44 highway/48 combined MPG rating. Different trim levels may vary slightly on these numbers. For cargo capacity, the Toyota Corolla offers around 13 cubic feet.
